Memorable and Personalized Graduation Gift Ideas

We will be graduating our first homeschooler this year. It is such a special time for all of us, knowing she has worked so hard to get to this point and she will soon be going out into the world on her own, that part is bittersweet 😕 . I had been trying to think of a great graduation gift idea that would show her how much she is loved and remind her of the wonderful memories of the many years she has spent home with her family. valentines day play dough

Wonderful glittery and soft valentines day playdough

Play dough is always something we have around for the kids to use in our house. It is such a great sensory medium for kids to use, and given tools to play with it they can play for hours. Even as my kids get older they still love sensory ideas. They will play in bin or with play dough for hours. We make our own play dough a few times a year and Continue Reading…

How We Store our Monthly Food

As I stated the other day I am going to give you a look into just how we store a months worth of food for 8 people. Like I also stated before we do things differently this time of year because we do not get our fruits and veggies from the farmers market anymore which means there is a lot more things in my freezer then normal. We also freeze strawberry jam and cut strawberries every year which equals about 100lbs of strawberries we prepare. We freeze corn and zucchini as well so our freezers are pretty full right now. We Continue Reading…

Crock Pot Quinoa Stuffed Peppers

One of the families all time favorite recipes is stuffed peppers, once upon a time we made it with rice which is very delicious. This was surprising to me since there are kids in the house that do not like tomatoes one bit, but they will eat stuffed peppers. We decided to try it with quinoa instead of rice once to see how we liked it, and found out that everyone loved it even more with the quinoa! So now we no longer make it with rice we only make it with quinoa. A couple things about this recipe. This Continue Reading…

Homemade Cream Of Chicken Soup

There were quite a few family favorite recipes in our house that involved using cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. Since we have started “clean eating” we refuse to use the canned soups at all, so I would just skip this in our recipes. This meant the recipes were much more dry then they once were, but we figured it was better then using something so full of preservatives. Well that was until I found out you can make your own condensed soups with clean ingredients! So this past month when we did our monthly freezer cooking meals Continue Reading…
