Teaching Accountability To Homeschool Children

One of the struggles we have had over the years is our homeschool kiddos trying to skip some of their work. In my experience it's not like when they do it, they don't work on their school at all. What they do is make it look like they did school for the day. But in reality they did some of their classes for the day and not others. This hasn't necessarily been such a problem with the younger kids, because I help with their school and closely supervising most of their lessons. The older kids … [Read more...]

The Age Old Question… How Do You Do It All?

Great Homeschool Organization and Storage Ideas

It has been a couple years since we have shared what our homeschool room looks like. The reason for this is that, even though we have an area in our basement that we can devote to a school room, we never use it. At this time the kids sit at the kitchen table or on the couch. Serena does school up in her room, away from the noise of us teaching younger ones using hands on methods. Since we decided to no longer do school in our school room, it has since then turned into a homeschool storage … [Read more...]

Homeschooling High Schoolers, It’s Easier Then You Think

One of the questions I often get asked is about homeschooling high schoolers. I remember when we first started homeschooling our kids, we said we would follow God's lead on what to do with our kids when they started high school. I was worried that it would be out of my league to teach them, since I don't have any type of teaching degree. I was also worried that they wouldn't get into college without a diploma from an "accredited high school". Little did I know at that time that this was very … [Read more...]
