Plans For Next Year For Ethan

God has lead us down a long road and we have learned so much through this journey with surgeries, IEP’s, Special Education Services, Physical/Occupational/Speech therapy in the last 2 years with Ethan. At the beginning of the school year I thought it was the worst thing ever to put him into the public school systems for anything other that strictly this therapy and to just keep him at home for his school. But after much prayer and talking to professionals we decided that not putting him into a special education class would only make him further delayed. Now I see all the improvements he has made and don’t know what we would have done without his in this program!

We went in last week and made his new IEP for next year, he will continue to qualify for Special Education services due to his speech apraxia, along with his cleft lip/palate, at this point and time he is not even needing PT or OT therapy services in the class anymore, WOW have we come so far in the last year! He will keep the same teacher, which is such a blessing since his teacher has been such a perfect fit for him and one of the main reasons he has made so many improvements in school this year. He will continue to go to school in the afternoon, same time as this year, and work on different activities in the mornings and on Fridays with us at home.

With only a couple more weeks left in the school year they had his end of the year family picnic at school the other night, it was a lot of fun they had so many wonderful things for the kids to do, I did manage to get a few pictured despite all the craziness to share!

They had face paining for the kids.
Ethan and Gabe enjoyed watching the Safety Bus and getting a bus stamp.
