94% of people celebrate at least 1 winter holiday (Christmas, Kwanza, Hanukkah). Christmas is typically the largest economic stimulus for many nations around the world as sales increase dramatically in almost all retail areas. The Christmas holiday just in the United States brings in over $3 trillion. It brings in a lot of extra jobs around the world, and maybe a few extra pounds for the average person¬† ūüėČ !

Candy canes are a Christmas must which there are 1.76 billion made every year, 19 million chocolate Santa’s are eaten every Christmas and 70% of adults give or receive a box of chocolates.¬†The top five most liked Christmas cookies last year were sugar cookies, gingerbread man cookies, peanut blossoms, thumbprint cookies, and Russian tea cakes (also known as Mexican wedding cakes).

Every Christmas as I was growing up we made plates of homemade goodies and delivered them to neighbors, friends, and family. That is a tradition I have continued with my children, and it is something we all look forward to every year. We spend the whole weekend making a huge list of goodies. It gets a little crazy every year, but the memories made making them are priceless.
