During August in our Mother Goose Time Curriculum we have spent time learning about Fables and Folktales. I previously shared one of our other Aesop’s Fables The Lion and the Mouse, today I am sharing another Aesop’s Fables we learned about, called The Young Crab and His Mother.
Aesop’s Fables have such great morals to teach children, and this fable was no exception. This fable taught children not to tell others how to act unless you can set a good example. Such a great life lesson!
Along with the fables, the kids made a crab craft. Mother Goose Time had a red “c” they punched out, and the google eyes, and the boys cut out their own claws and eyes. We also looked at a few educational sites to look at the different types of crabs as well as watched some videos on You Tube. You can watch fishers catch crabs, Crabs migrating, see the worlds biggest crabs, watch crab fighting, and so many other videos about crabs on You Tube.
The tape is out once again to put our crabs together 🙂 !
Ethan’s finished little crab.
Gabe’s finished little crab.
Gabe decided it made a perfect hat 😀 !
Later this week you will get a look into our Paul Bunyan activities we spent a full week doing. Next months topic is going to be feelings and friends, it starts up our new year, and we are excited!!
