The I-Homeschool Network hosts a Not Back To School blog hop that I am participating in this week. The past weeks topic was to share your not so back to school pictures, so here is our back to school photos for the 2013-2014 school year. All of the pictures were taken this past week on our 4 day trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for our Back to school pictures in nature, the place my children love!!
I cannot believe that another school year is upon us, while we do homeschool year round we have just switched to our next year studies for our subjects about 3 weeks ago. This year we are starting our 8th year of homeschooling our children it has been a long journey but one that I wouldn’t change for anything. The last year I have seen my 2 oldest children turn from children to young adults it has been an amazing experience that really reminds me how fast they are growing up!
Here is a picture of all of the kids together at our Day Out With Thomas Event.
Serena is 14 and is going to be working on 10th grade classes. She is my very loudly opinionated child to the point we are woking on learning to keep some things to herself 🙂 She loves to read and spends most of her free time reading books and also loves to spend hours in the library. She is my big helper around the house and will help almost any time with anything that needs to be done including cooking and baking!!
Dustin is 13 and will be working on 8th grade classes this year. He is one of our 2 very active kiddos that is on the go all the time. He loves riding bikes, scooters, roller blades, rip stick, and really anything with wheels. He is an amazing visual learner and also loves taking electronics apart and putting them together and does it quite well. He is almost 6 foot tall already and he is in a size 13 in mens shoes, bigger then mom at 13 🙁 He struggles with ADHD which we treat without medicines, anxiety, and sensory processing disorder issues.
Cody is 11 and will be working on 6th grade classes this year. He is one of our very quiet ones and is happy pretty much keeping to himself. He loves reading comic books, and The Lord Of The Rings. He also loves playing video games he remembers everything about every video game to the point it will blow your mind. He enjoys monopoly and he loves to collect all things with dragons on them. He has been through many medical issues and also has Asperbergers.
Anthony is 9 he will be working on 4th grade classes this year. He is our comedian and has the ability to make just about anybody laugh, he also has a sensitive side and his feelings are hurt very easy. He loves riding his bike, swimming, jogging, and really any type of sport someone will teach him to play. He is such a loving brother and has such a big heart, he will help and play with anyone.
Ethan is 5 and will be doing Kindergarten and first grade classes this year. He is my energetic kiddo that keeps me on my toes he is on the go from the time he wakes up (which is usually around 5-6am) until the time he goes to bed, his speeds are fast and faster 😉 He love riding bikes, scooters, anything with wheels, swimming, and “mighty machines” as he calls them. He was born with a cleft lip and palate and has been through a few surgeries and also struggles with Di-Georges Syndrome and severe Sensory Processing Disorder issues.
Gabriel is 3 1/2 and will be working on Preschool work this year. He is one of my quiet ones unless you make him mad which he will then let you know that you made him cross. His all time favorite things are trains especially Thomas The Train which he can name every train that has ever been on the show. He loves listening to stories, coloring, and snuggling with mom and dad.
