Are you looking for the perfect hybrid between breakfast and dessert? This Cinnamon Roll Cake really does…take the cake! What better excuse to have your cake in the morning AND after dinner as well? While this is “technically” a dessert, there comes a point in time when you can decide to eat your treats early in the day or not. And in our house, it’s always a good time for this tasty treat.

Make certain to plan on making this delicious cake roll recipe as it’s a simple and fast dessert. With less than an hour of cook time needed, there’s no reason that you’ll have to wait very long. (and just wait until you taste the glaze…totally out of this world amazing!)

This is one of my favorite cake recipes because it really does taste just like a giant cinnamon roll. And in my book, that’s one flavor that we should never ignore.

Fair warning about this cake recipe, though…You’re going to spoil your taste buds with this one. The sweet glaze paired up with the cinnamon flavor is going to be something that you literally think about every single day!

Cinnamon Roll Cake

Makes 10 servings
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

For the swirl:

  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons flour

For the glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating between each addition.

4. Add the milk and vanilla and beat to combine.

5. Add the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

6. To make the cinnamon swirl, stir together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Spoon the mixture on top of the batter in the pan and use a knife to swirl it into the cake.

7. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool slightly in the pan, then transfer it to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

9. To make the glaze, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake before serving.
