We were so excited to attend the Day Out with Thomas 2014 event again this year in Flint, MI. This event is so much more then just a 40 minute ride on Thomas the Train. We learned that last year we needed to allow most of the day to be able to enjoy all of the activities that are available.
Upon arriving we boarded the train, being pulled by none other the Thomas. At the event you get a 40 minute ride on Thomas, which is a very relaxing ride that many fall asleep on.
The further back you sit on the train, the better view you will get of Thomas. They have a spot for everyone on the left and right side to see the whole train.
A waiving fire dog was spotted along the way.
Beautiful scenery along the way. The island off in the distance is the Island Of Sodor.
An old caboose along the way was an exciting find for the kids.
They had many different fun Thomas and Friends themed activities for the kids to do before or after their train ride.
Great Thomas and Friends themed spots to take pictures all around.
The hay bale maze is always a favorite to race through.
The kids enjoyed making Thomas and Friends stamped pages. I love the look on Ethan’s face, you can also notice how hot he was because his face was bright red at this point and time.
The kids enjoyed chasing bubbles from the bubble machine as well.
There were many different Thomas and Friends activities the kids enjoyed during the day. On top of the Thomas activities they also have Crossroads Village to explore. This is an old village that has many different old buildings and production facilities, because this year we had the entire day to explore we were able to really look through the village.
A handmade tin lantern.
Handmade tin creations. Some are house ware and others are decorations.
The oldest water mill in the state of Michigan. We were able to watch them making things with corn.
The flowers around the village are just beautiful!
We watched the process of how apple cider is made using an old apple press.
Everyone always love a game of checkers.
OK so I thought I hated going to the dentist, I’m pretty sure I would hate it much more if this is what my dentist office looked like lol. It is really amazing how things have changed over the years.
Go for a ride in the barber chair.
We watched the blacksmith make little horseshoes, which was very interesting!
What better thing to do after walking around all day on a super hot day? Stick you head under the water pump 🙂
We had such a wonderful day and we are looking forward to attending next year.
