While we were up in the Upper Peninsula Michigan for a vacation we were blessed with the ability to stay at the Halfway Lake Resort. As always with 8 of us finding somewhere to stay that can accomidate all of us is not an easy task, the cabins at the resort however fit us all very comfortably.

Something else that really makes the resort a perfect place to stay for your vacation in the Upper Peninsula Michigan, was that the resort is centrally located around all of the fun activities we had planned while on our trip. This really helped to make it so that we were not driving for hours to our destination each day of the trip.

The resort is such a private and unique place. The cabins are set back in thick 200 acre pine forest and is on a 65 acre semi private lake. There is plenty of activities to keep everyone of any age happy, and you will even get the convience of cooking your own meals right in your cabin. They also have private trails around for you to use making snowmobiling and ATV use very fun for the whole family!!

Halfway Lake Resort is located in Newberry, MI and only has 8 cabins available to rent out making it very quiet and private destination. It is run by a wonderful couple who has 2 beautiful little girls. Each of the cabins has 2 bedrooms inside of them, a dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, charcoal grill, picnic table, and most of the cabins have screened in porches. They have a community fire pit available, hot tub, boats, kayaks, life jackets, play set for the kids, and so much more!!

Halfway Lake Resort is an amazing family friendly clean place with many amenities you just cannot find anywhere else!! Any time we head up to the Upper Peninsula Michigan we will be staying at Halfway Lake Resort without a doubt.

This is the beautiful view of the lake from outside our cabin back door. I’m pretty sure you cannot find this view many other places you can stay at! You can also see that the lake is very private, there is only a couple other places on it so it’s lots of quiet time enjoying nature!

The cabins are hidden behind trees when viewing them out on the lake making the resort a very private place to stay.

Here is the front of the cabin that we stayed in.

Here is the back side of the cabin with the view of the screened in porch to the left. Each of the cabins had flowers around them along with some very nice landscaping.0822131000

The picnic table and grill, with the beautiful view of the lake.

Each of the kitchens has a full refrigerator, stove, microwave, cupboards with dishes, pots and pans available to use.

In the cabin we stayed in they have 2 bedrooms that each had a queen size bed as well as a set of bunk beds. This gave us plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably!

The back porch was a great place to eat on those hot nights or just sit and relax. You could even hear wolves howling late at night, something I’m sure you can’t find at many places you can stay!!

There is a swing set for kids to use, which was perfect for the 2 little boys to play on during the times we were busy and not able to bring them out on the lake.

They have TONS of fun things to do on the big semi private lake. They offer life jackets for the adults and children, row boats, kayaaks, and fishing boats, and a few different docks to fish from. My boys spent every moment that we were not busy doing something fishing out on the lake!

If your lucky enough to come during a full moon, it is an amazing site!! Without all the city lights around it is something so beautiful, the lake for the moon to shine off of just completes the beauty of God’s beautiful world! It would be an amazing place to be during any meteor shower I’m sure.

This would be a wonderful place to stay any time of the year, each of the cabins have a heater to keep them warm during the cold months and also contains extra blankets. The fall would make for a nice cool way to tour the area attractions while enjoying the fall colors (which I’m sure are stunning up there). The winter offers many different trails to take your snowmobiles out on, sledding hills for the kids, and a steamy hot tub to soak in after a cold days adventure. Spring offers the ability to search for morel mushrooms see all the blooming trees and flowers at the area attractions.

The resort is centrally located around many of the different attractions in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so you are not that far of a drive places like Tahquamenon Falls Riverboat Tour, Pictured Rocks, Oswalds Bear Ranch, Soo Locks, and many of the other great attractions found in the Upper Peninsula Michigan.
