  • Take field trips to free attractions.

Not everything educational has to cost money! Take a look around your town and the neighboring towns and find out if there are any free educational field trip options for your child. Museums are a great place to check and often times they have one day per week where the admission is free or drastically reduced as well! Other great places to check for free field trip ideas would be the police station, fire station, college campus or other artistic venues located around town. The more variety that you can educate and expose your child to, the better!

  • Use the real world to teach your child.

So many times some of the best life lessons can’t be learned from a textbook, right? Instead of spending the day reading words on pages, why not take your child out and about into the community and see what free ways you can teach them while also helping others. Volunteering, visiting a nursing home or even helping out at the local animal shelter are all great ways to help others and teach your child.

  • Partner up with another homeschool parent or group.

Homeschooling doesn’t have to be something that you do on your own, all the time! Why not think about partnering up with another homeschool group or parent to combine your current resources and help out one another. You can take turns teaching lesson plans, taking trips or just finding ways to homeschool for free as well. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other homeschooling parents and families in the area as well!

When it comes to finding ways to homeschool for free, there are a ton of great options out there and available. Do your research to figure out what works best for you and your schedule and then start researching ways to incorporate a few of the suggested free tips above. The more that you branch out and open up your circle of opportunities, the more free experiences you and your child will have! Don’t miss out on educating your child by not wanting to take them about and about to experience everything that your community offers! There are truly some great free activities that would be a great accompaniment to your homeschooling curriculum!
