Iowa Vacation For Kids ~ Part 1

Thank you for sharing!!

Last month my cousin got married over in Iowa, where they live. We decided that it would be fun to go since we haven’t brought all the kids for a long trip since Ethan was little so we decided to take a fun Iowa Vacation for kids. To where we needed to go it was a 6 hour drive, and with the fact that Gabe doesn’t do so good on 3o minute car rides I was worried as to how things would go bringing 8 people in the car for 6 hours.

I brought many things for the kids to do to keep them busy in the car and it ended up being a pretty good car ride. We did stop at a part about 1 1/2 hours from our destination to have a picnic lunch and to let the kids get out and stretch which was about perfect because the 2 little boys needed to get out by the time they had been sitting in the car for  4 1/2 hours.

Serena decided to sleep on the car ride.

The park we stopped at in Illinois for the boys to get their energy out.

There was a field with a few very large wind turbines.

Along the drive we drove through a query which was very cool, something none of us had ever seen.

look how small the trucks are off in the distance.

Right before we got into Iowa we passed over the Mississippi River on a huge bridge. Very cool for the kids to see the Mississippi River.

Finally arrived in Iowa.

After we arrived we got settled in and got ready for to head out to the reception. Getting 6 kids ready sure can take some time, here are all the kids dressed up and ready to head out. Boy are my 2 oldest kids getting so much older!
