We will be graduating our first homeschooler this year. It is such a special time for all of us, knowing she has worked so hard to get to this point and she will soon be going out into the world on her own, that part is bittersweet 😕 . I had been trying to think of a great graduation gift idea that would show her how much she is loved and remind her of the wonderful memories of the many years she has spent home with her family. I couldn’t think of a more perfect gift then the wonderful memory quilt from Project Repat. I have been provided with a free quilt and also been compensated for this post to review this unique and special gift ideas.
How To Use Project Repat For Your Own Personalized Gift Ideas
Project Repat takes all the hard work and does it for you, and in return you get a one of a kind gift perfect for your student that is graduating or anyone else for that matter! Let me give you an idea of how super easy it is to get your memory quilt.
- Decide what size quilt you would like to get. You can choose from lap, twin, full, queen, and king size. Head over to the website and figure out how many t-shirts you will need to collect in order to make that size.
- Decide what color fleece you want on the back side of your quilt.
- Put your order through on their website and print off the page that needs to be included with your t-shirts.
- Find a box either around your house or purchase one from the post office. Put the required number of t-shirts into the box along with the page you printed out, and put the address onto your box.
- Ship your t-shirts out!
- Wait for your special gift to come back to you in the mail 😀 !
The process is really that simple!! What they do is cut the design or logo out of the front of the t-shirst (or back if you request), and make them all into a blanket with a super soft fleece using the color you choose (made from recycled water bottles) on the back side of the blanket. The quality of the blanket is simply amazing, you will not be disappointed!!
The video below will give you a look at how they make each of the t-shirt quilts. It’s pretty amazing, I think!
It is a perfect idea for using all of those t-shirts that have so many memories behind them, but they don’t fit your child anymore. You no longer have to throw them away or drop them off at a donation center!!
On the quilt we made my daughter has some really special memories of t-shirts that were purchased while on vacation, some of her favorite t-shirts she wore growing up, and even some funny shirts her brothers got her that no longer fit her anymore. She will now be able to bring this quilt with her when she moves out and have a wonderful reminder of these great family memories to keep with her for years to come. I really can’t think of a better graduation gift idea!!
Here is a look at our quilt made from t-shirts through out the years.
T-Shirt from our trip to Mackinac Island.
Another Michigan t-shirt from our UP Michigan vacation, and another that fits her personality perfectly 😉 !
You can see that the quality of the quilt is really amazing, this will last for many many years!!
We got the twin size quilt that fits perfectly on her bed for now, and will be a great throw blanket as she gets older.
The quilt is high quality at a fraction of the cost of other places. As if that wasn’t enough they are made right here in the USA by an actual person not a machine!!
