“The Missing Piece”
Some of the benefits of subtitled video learning is that it effectively provides for virtually every learning style, enabling each child to choose to process the information by watching, listening to, or reading each presentation thereby allowing them to process that information in the most beneficial and effective manner. Research show that added subtitles had the potential to dramatically improve children’s reading/literary skills.

Getting Started Walkthrough:
Zane offers an easy to use program, simply log onto Zane’s website and click on Videos and then choose how you would like to view the available videos, they offer videos by subject, videos by grade, or view all videos.
Once you choose what video you want to view your screen will look like this. As you can see you have online interactive study tools on the right side of the screen, so students can further explore any chosen topic. If I choose View All Videos they are split up into subjects as seen below. Once you find the video you want to view just click on the title.
Some of the great videos we have been enjoying are the ocean series, and the USA videos, the kids have learned so much from watching these videos. Dustin has even come up to me on multiple occasions with random facts from the videos and told me I didn’t know this or that before the video.
My feelings about Zane Education:
Zane Education is a subscription that I will continue using to supplement our curriculum studies through the year, not only do I love it but the children do as well! One of the huge benefits for us is that I do not have to pay a separate membership fee for each of my children, 1 membership fee and all the children can use it! I would also recommend it to anyone looking for amazing subtitled video content to supplement or for a complete curriculum, especially large families looking for video content that wont break the bank in order for the whole family to use it.
There have not been to many downsides to the program, and the couple of them I did see were not enough to change how we felt about the program, just figured I would mention them for anyone who would have a problem with them.
-I would suggest watching the videos before allowing children to watch them, there is some Sex Education videos that I feel are not appropriate for my younger kids, careful monitoring while children are on the computer has made this not a problem in our house.
-You cannot watch the video in full screen mode, which would make viewing of the videos a lot nicer! Each of my kiddos at one point and time checked to see if there was a way to increase the size of the video.
