Last year I made this super simple Valentine Day treats for the kids near Valentine’s Day. They were very simple to make and of course delicious!
What is needed to make your own Simple Valentine Day TreatsÂ
- 1 box of cake mix~ any flavor (we used cherry chip and added some red coloring)
- Frosting~ we used white frosting so the sprinkles would stand out more.
- Sprinkles~ If you want to add a little color inside your cupcakes.
- Valentine’s Sprinkles~ To decorate the top of your cupcakes. ( I found mine in the dollar section at Target.) I have added a link to the same ones on Amazon though.
First I followed the directions on the box mixed up the batter, I added colorful sprinkles into the batter for some added color. I used cupcake liners for easier cleanup inside my cupcake pans. I always use an ice cream scoop to add the batter to my cupcakes it makes it so much easier! Next you add the batter to the 24 cupcake liners, and bake according to the box. Here is our cupcakes set out to cool.

Adding the sprinkles to the batter made for them to be so colorful inside!
The kids each were able to frost and decorate their own cupcakes, we used white frosting and these sprinkles. Yes, even the little ones. I found the Valentine’s Sprinkles in the dollar section at Target but I have a link to some other ones we have picked up from Amazon above in the ingredients.
Cody’s finished cupcake, ready to eat!
Here is Gabes cupcake.
Anthony’s cupcake festive and finished.
Gabe wasted no time digging into his, he is my kiddo that has a BIG sweet tooth!
