If you’re looking for a way to use up the fresh strawberries from your garden, look no further than these Strawberry Shortcake Bars! They’re not only delicious, but they’re fast! I love making this simple shortcake recipe because it tastes just like an old-fashioned shortcake. I have fond memories of eating this as a child and I’m so happy to be sharing it with my kids, too.
The other delicious aspect of this recipe is the fresh strawberries. Nothing tastes as good as fresh strawberries do. Nothing. They just scream spring and summer and have the perfect sweetened flavor. If you’re lucky enough to have a strawberry bed, go out and pick them from there! (If you can wait that long…I always eat them the second that I pick them!)
This simple strawberry shortcake recipe is easy to eat because they’re bars but still have that familiar shortcake taste and texture. One of my favorite ways to eat strawberries!

Make certain to check out our Strawberry Pretzel Salad In a Jar recipe, too. Another HUGE hit in our house for good reason!
While I’m big on fresh strawberries for this recipe, you can use frozen ones as well. Just be certain to let them thaw completely and drain off as much excess liquid as you can. The last thing that you want to have to do with is soggy dessert bars!
One thing that I really love about this shortcake recipe is that it’s done and ready in less than an hour of time. When we get that sweet tooth talking, none of us are overly patient to feed it!
Trust me when I say that you’re going to want to make up this recipe as soon as possible. It’s such a light and refreshing taste that is loaded down with strawberry flavor. Don’t delay – you’re going to have a new favorite strawberry dessert without a doubt!
