Thank you for sharing!!

We have been working through Truth In The Tinsel: An Advent Experience For Little Hands with the 2 younger boys this year. It has been so much fun and the boys are picking up so much of the Christmas story, and really enjoying it! Ethan really looks forward to pulling the number off every day from our Advent Calendar to reveal our clue, as we read through our bible verses for the day he listens for our “clue” word.

Here is a look at our ornaments for Day 1- Day 6. We have a little tree set aside for the boys to put their Truth In The Tinsel homemade ornaments on.

Day 1: Light
The people who are now living in darkness will see a great light. They are now living in a very dark land. But a light will shine on them. Isaiah 9:2

Day 2: Kingdom

The authority of his rule will continue to grow. The peace he brings will never end. He will rule on David’s throne and over his kingdom. He will make the kingdom strong and secure. His rule will be based on what is fair and right. It will last forever. Lord’s great love will make sure that happens. He rules over all. Isaiah 9:7

Day 3: Zachariah
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will have a child. It will be a boy, and you must name him John. He will be a joy and delight to you. His birth will make many people very glad. He will be important in the Lord’s eyes. Luke 1:13-15

Ethan decided that Zachariah needed pink yarn. Why? “Because there is pink yarn in the I Spy Christmas book.” Then after we got the pink hair on he said “mom he has pink hair, he looks like a girl” and then I told him “well honey you were the one who choose pink yarn” he replies “oh yea.” So yes his Zachariah does have pink hair 🙂

Day 4: Gabriel

In the sixth month after Elizabeth had become pregnant, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee. He was sent to a virgin. The girl was engaged to a man named Joseph. He came from the family line of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel greeted her and said, “The Lord has given you special favor. He is with you.” Luke 1:26-28

Day 5: Mary
You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago. He will rule forever over his people, who came from Jacob’s family. His kingdom will never end.” “How can this happen?” Mary asked the angel. “I am a virgin.” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come to you. The power of the Most High God will cover you. So the holy one that is born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:31-35

Day 6: Mary & Elizabeth

At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in Judea’s hill country. There she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby inside her jumped. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:39-41

Here is Ethan’s Mary and Elizabeth ornaments.

Cody and Anthony’s Mary & Elizabeth ornaments, they each made one ornament!
Cody and Anthony decided the dolls looked fun to make so they decided to join in for our Advent story and activity for the day.

Each of the ornaments on the tree.

Our little tree in the dining room is filling up with some adorable ornaments, and if you ask Ethan he will tell you almost word for word what each of them mean!
