Last week was another busy one here. On Monday (Memorial Day) we spent the day with family, and it was a very hot day, so the kids were able to spend hours in the pool there! I have been working on getting my school year planned for next year, our new school year starts on July 9th. My goal this coming up year is to have as much of my stuff ready ahead of time as possible, so my weekends are not so consumed with printing and making materials for the up coming week, we will see how well that works. I also am doing research into what classes I will be putting Serena into for her first year of High School. Of course all this means not doing as much “planned” school the next couple weeks, other than finishing up any of our studies for the current school year that we have not already finished. So my posting will not be the usual, just any fun stuff we have been up to!
Gabe also went in on Tuesday and got his stitch taken out of his nose, I can imagine that would have to be one of the most annoying spots for stitches hanging off the tip of your nose!! Thursday was Ethan’s last day of school and it was spent at the zoo with all the kids, it was a lot of fun (working on post!) Sunday we spent downtown at the Art Festival, which is a yearly tradition in our house (working on post.)
I am also very proud to say we are daytime diaper free in my house, after 13 years that is an accomplishment!! Ethan has been the hardest child I have ever potty trained in the end we have been trying to potty train him for over 2 years now, and he has just been able to feel when he has to go to the bathroom instead of having me bring him to the potty ritualistically 🙂 After we accomplished daytime potty training and stayed dry for a couple weeks with Ethan, I was finally ready to put Gabe in undies. He has been showing that he has been ready for 6 months, but it was to much to potty train them both together. He has been in undies during the day for 2 weeks now and has had only 2 accidents, even when we are out in public YEA!!!
Here are a few of the activities we did last week.
Our day at the pool with family!
Gabe enjoyed the little pool much better!
I have been experimenting with Digital Scrapbooking and loving it! So I am planning on sharing some of my collages each week of some of the activities the kids do, mainly so I can put them into a scrapbook at the end of the year.
Ethan made rice krispie treats for school snack for the last week of school.
Ethan pulled out our Avalanche Fruit Stand Game and played it for a little bit.
They spin the spinner and whatever color it lands on is the color fruit they tweeze and add to the fruit stand.
We have loved our avalanche game and it has gotten lots of use through the years.
Dustin enjoyed his reading time on our new Platform Swing in the sensory room before the carpet was even added (tutorial and share on a later post)
