Thank you for sharing!!

If you have been following our blog for a while now, you would know that we started the path of healthy eating and natural living about 4 years ago now. As anyone can attest who has been through that journey it’s something that doesn’t happen overnight.

It has been a long journey to get where we are now, but the results we have seen from doing it have been amazing! Over the years we have found great uses for essential oils. I have shared some of our mixtures of oils we use on a regular basis which also included an essential oil bug spray that actually works, as well as uses for some of our most commonly used oils.

Since accumulating so many oils over the years, trying to figure out the best way to store them has always been a challenge. Eventually, I might have my wonderful husband build me an oil shelf. But for now I needed to find a better way to store our ever accumulating Essential oils. When we first started with oils we would just store them in a small container. Once we got a lot of different oils that didn’t work so well anymore, even with me putting labels on the top of the lids digging through 2 layers of oils was a pain and pretty time consuming!

Great Essential Oil Storage Ideas

Recently we cleaned out our spice cupboard, and in the rack we used to store all of our spices in the bottom 2 shelves were empty. That’s when I decided it would be a perfect for essential oil storage. The shelves can easily be slid out, and its very easy to see the oils. On top of that the shelves close back up, so you don’t see them when you don’t want to.

The bigger oil containers can fit 1 in each slot and the smaller bottles I can fit 2 bottles in.

A look at the rack closed. You can add labels to the front if you want to know right where everything is. Essential Oil Storage and Products-1

We store all of our regularly used oils and mixtures in the spice rack, but there are always extra bottle of oils I have. When Puritans pride has their B1G2 free sale I tend to stock up on them, and that means I often have 2 or 3 bottles of the same oil. So for all of my extra oils I store them on a another spice storage rack. It is tiered so that I can easily find the oils I’m looking for and works perfect. On the top shelf I store our carrier oils as well as a couple of our spray bottles with our mixture oils in them.

One of other favorite way to use oils is in our diffuser! When someone starts getting the sniffles they get extra doses of our Elderberry syrup, and our homemade thieves is put into the diffuser. Most of the time we are able stop the sniffles before they get worse. We use it in the main living areas during the day and in their bedroom at night.

Since adding the oils and the syrup, our family doesn’t get sick that often at all anymore. When we do, it doesn’t last more then a couple days and it doesn’t turn into something that requires antibiotics like it used to ;)! We haven’t been to the Dr’s for antibiotics in a couple years now, with 6 kids that’s pretty awesome in my opinion!! Yes, you read that right no antibiotics in a few years!!! The sad thing is that we used to be down there so much they would joke about starting to charge us rent 😀 .

Wow what a coincidence!! That is a wonderful idea for storing them too, I would have never though of it. The container we used to have them in we had the labels on top too.
